报告题目:Mapping and Positioning by Point Clouds and Images
报告摘要:
Point clouds and images offer a great potential for efficient mapping and positioning in dense urban environments. Information extraction from point clouds and images, however, faces a few challenges. In this talk, I discuss methods for information extraction from point clouds and images, and identify challenges related to classification, object recognition and location sensing.
报告人简介:
Kourosh Khoshelham is a senior lecturer at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering of the University of Melbourne. He has worked as an assistant professor at the University of Twente, Delft University of Technology, and University of Tehran. He is the co-chair of the ISPRS WG IV/5 on indoor/outdoor seamless modelling, LBS and mobility, co-chair of Indoor 3D 2017 in Wuhan, and co-chair of Research@Locate 2018, which will be held in Sydney. Kourosh also serves as the secretary of Australian Spatial Information Education and Research Association (ASIERA). His research interests include indoor mapping, modelling and localization, mobile mapping, and information extraction from images and point clouds. He is an author of more than 90 publications, which have attracted more than 2400 citations (by Sep, 2017) according to the Google Scholar.
